Introduction to Patent Prosecution
This webinar provides an overview of patent prosecution flow, and the process of drafting, and filing with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Here, the instructor surveys the differences between utility and design patents; reviews the anatomy of a patent and a file history, sometimes referred to as file wrapper. We also examine key prosecution documents including, Information Disclosure Statements (IDSs), office responses, issue fees, PCT filing, foreign filing, national stage filings, and more. More importantly, the instructor will explain aspects paralegals should pay attention to when dealing with file histories in patent litigations and also patent prosecution tools that are helpful for practitioners.
