Collaborating in Competitive Ecosystems

While Collaborating in Competitive Ecosystems follows Building a Leadership Habitat, these two books can be read independently of each other and in a non-sequential order. Visionary leadership and teamwork are crucial for diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA). Xîlé and her team prioritize dedication, innovation, and collaboration. They embrace transparency and DEIA themes as they navigate uncharted territory, fostering a harmonious ecosystem where competition and collaboration coexist.

This collaborative work between author Ashley Cheung and illustrator Michelle Kim portrays the bustling PeTab ecosystem, an exciting environment whose diverse range of members experience potential growth. As Xîlé and her team embark on this journey of growth, they utilize their unique mindsets and perspectives, collaborating effectively while also diligently safeguarding against toxicity.

In 2020, I founded Virtual Patent Gateway (VPG) to provide on-demand paralegal services to Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) practitioners. My virtual services reduce clients’ overhead costs and provide them with agile staffing solutions. Since I started my company, VPG covered at least 100+ inter partes review, post-grant review and ex parte reexaminations for PTAB professionals. I am an immigrant from Hong Kong with over two decades of litigation paralegal experience, a strong work ethic, and an entrepreneurial spirit. The PTAB is an administrative body that was created only about a decade ago, so I saw the unique need for assistance in this new jurisdiction. I created VPG to fill that role.

As a minority business leader myself, I care about diversity, equity, and inclusion. That is why I have used VPG as a vehicle to increase social awareness, implementing programs that allow women and young creatives to gain experience and earn supplemental income simultaneously, even during COVID.

My coaching involves filing assistance for paralegals, law firms, and corporate departments who wish to master this very niche PTAB practice. Email me at [email protected] to find out how VPG can help you grow your experience.
